I see Shelagh Hancock has taken a non exe director post at Carrs. I’d have thought when they’re delivering the lowest price to producers her time might have been better spent solely focussing on First Milk. Time for a change maybe?
What makes it worse is my milk is lifted by an Arla tanker. I’m just basic RT assurance no extras and I doubt very much that milk will be separated from the Arla high fliers in terms of farm assurance. Makes a bit of a mockery of it all!
And all the other regenerative agriculture nonsense as well seems to mean nothing if they’re giving the milk away. They’ve lot their focus on selling milk and more interested in tinkering with their farmer suppliers systems
Never much chat about First Milk on here. Are there many direct suppliers on here? July price will be about 7.5 pence behind Arla and no chance of anymore for July. Feels a bit like FM are heading the same way as a few years ago, are they in for some sticky times??

Like most of these schemes it’s just a way of devaluing the actual product be it milk or beef or whatever and tying up a perceived “bonus” on some nonsense. At the end of the day the milk is worth the same regardless of regen or not.
Looks alright. Should be decent energy with maize, wheat and soya well up the list. Some decent energy and protein sources too. Ok at £305 in current market
I put a second hand parlour in. Auto Id, milk meters acrs, nothing too complicated parlour was £22k for a 28:28 but I only put in a 22:22 so have lots of spares. It cost at least another £30k to fit and sort out the dairy plus another £15 for a tank and bits of electric work. We re galvanised...
Vet has never questioned it but then I buy it from them! Farm Assurance hasn’t ever been a problem. In fact I was complimented on my milk quality results by the auditor
This has been a really interesting read. I’ve not been milking long but so far we’ve dried off everything with antibiotics and a sealant (orbeseal). After reading this and watching the video we’ve not been pinching the top of the teat when using the sealant but it seems to work on most of our...
