A bit more info, I’m evaluating for French grown grain maize, it’s already irrigated and on NVZ, the yields I see quoted for drip maize are considerably higher than we are obtaining now. There are also claims of reduced fertiliser usage due to targeted and timely application through the drip...
Hi,
Is anyone on here using Drip Irrigation for grain maize? I’m looking into this and would appreciate any experiences. Also with regard to fertilising through the system.
TIA

This I agree with, the UK compound industry has had to accept the cost of what they do and pass that on in cost or quality or even both! There isn’t the money in any livestock sector to pay...
You would think, alas it’s not as straight forward as that, many “large mobile mill companies” may run at a lower mill cost and make the money on the minerals they insist on supplying as a package!

One neighbour has been direct drilling beans for many years, he puts more seed on, they are often shorter but very well podded! Ironically this spring they look his poorest stand since he started, the recent/current rain we are having may well change that!
Looks like a little rough in the seat...
Just tried boiler juice now, they are 6p per litre higher than the price quoted yesterday, a decent volume yes but like for like against my local supplier!
