    Health and safety

Let's not jump to conclusions on this one until facts are known from RAIB investigation, but just reflect on the fact that two normal working guys went to work and now will never come home. Just take the time to make sure what you are doing is safe.

    Classic reversible at the British

I did see this and would tend to agree with your comment about the finish. This has often been a contentious issue for judging and caused much discussion! Anybody else? I was thinking about having a run down to see how it's done south of the border!

It does have pressure control, I though it was standard from 200 series on?

    Employee wanting to borrow machinery

If you were to explain your reasons not to lend it, based on your post above he may then understand better why you said no?

    I remember the time when...

A pal of mine used to do this in his fathers Austin Gypsy and change gears when on the road when we were both about 11. On the farm he drove it himself all the time.

    I remember the time when...

I used to use a tree several miles away on the skyline. Then somebody went and cut it down. Three fields were drilled on straights heading for it. Oh dear!

    Autobox & Off Road

I would have to agree with you. Have used mine in similar situations including towing 3.5 tonne trailers off road and have been very happy, despite being a bit sceptical to start off with!

Dispute with Isuzu uk about the 1900 engine

Not quite sure if that's the case. Dealer told me they developed to 1.9 engine for the UK market as the import tariffs targeted engines above 2.0. Doesn't sound clueless to me. The 1.9 performs as well as 2.5. Mine has 20k on the clock now with no hassle.

Advise on employing general farm worker

Unfortunately still too many in the industry have never been on the other side of the fence, and would maybe just struggle a little bit to fit in as an employee or self employed man. Please note I am not tarring all with this brush! But experience over the years reinforces my opinion! The ones...

    Are you serious?

I started I new job end of November in I think 1973. Christmas day was not a public holiday in Scotland then so I worked a normal day. Fed cattle and went ploughing until afternoon feed. Now New Year, that was different! Can't remember much but ended up in lots of different homes, and being...

    Health and safety thread.

This is often seen as an easy way out by inexperienced health and safety professionals! I was once challenged by one of these for climbing onto a trailer which was all of 600mm off ground and told I had to wear a harness and clip on to machine that was lifting it. The two words that H&S...

I saw a recent bulletin showing 4 fatalities on farms recently. 4 families without a loved one. Think on guys......... It could be you if you don't think about what you are doing.
