    Combinables Price Tracker

Has a boat magically appeared at the port now WOSR is surprisingly available off farm at the moment! Been offered £330 ex this week if they can get it in.

    Harvest/Yields 2020

Only one field of rape this year as was supposed to be in SA watching my boy play rugby. That obviously didn’t happen, combined Friday 1.75t/ac. Will be best paying crop this year. Virtually no beetles on trailers this year compared with last year so will be persevering with WOSR this year.

    Tractor driving test

You may be right! I was always very good at making 1+1=3! Can probably only go on road with L plates and ‘instructor’ on passenger seat when learner is 17.

    Tractor driving test

He had to know his Highway Code and answered several questions on that. We can find details on restrictions on width of tractor and towed trailer but no mention of any implements carried on the three point linkage. As Phil P suggests an implement would probably have to be no more than 2.45m wide...

    Tractor driving test

Thanks. I think all of that still applies except that if the tractor has a factory fitted seat a 16 yr old can now go on the road to practice with a suitable adult and L plates before a test. Still unsure what, if anything, he can carry on the hydraulics on the road having past his test. I rang...

    Tractor driving test

Good news is that with relaxation of restrictions my boy has been able to get and passed his test today. Does anybody have a link as to what he can carry/tow now? Only thing I have found is 2.45m width of tractor or trailer. Is there weight and width restrictions on what can be carried on the...

How late can you plant winter oats

No idea what happened here in 1971 to be honest, I was interested in other things at the time, but this year will live long in my memory! The rain in June has interfered with my mascani winter oatshaving had no fungicide so I have put 0.5lts of Firefly on the spring crop at ear emergence to try...

How late can you plant winter oats

Mascani winter oats planted 26th March, 40kg/ac. Struggled in the dry and hot weather, not tillering as much as normal, but finally responding to recent wet weather.

    Tractor driving test

My 16 year old is desperate to take his test but haven’t managed to get a date yet. Online keep going round in circles with theory test coming up as required and my wife had no joy on the phone. Has anybody had any success in these difficult times or do we just have to wait for easing of...

    The Drought

I was assuming you had got the equation the right way round, was just wondering how you had worked out how much the dog had drunk!

    The Drought

I have 20mm in my dog bowl which is 65mm high and the diameter is 190mm at the top and 150mm at the bottom. How much rain have i had?

    The Drought

Just wheat plots this year. 33 varieties! Had a look yesterday and still very little septoria or mildew present in untreated but plenty of yellow rust and brown rust just getting going.

    The Drought

Still in drought here. 5ml in last few days is nowhere near enough to replace deficit and crops and grass still going backwards.

    The Drought

Not a drop yesterday, last night or today! We are drier now than we were 2018 at this time and would rather not see the sun again until we have had a few decent showers.

    Any ideas ?

Had another look at the Zyatt this morning and quite easy to find damaged ears. Had a look at Firefly which I have in field alongside and couldn’t find any damaged. Just a question of timing I guess.
