Alistair Smart at Alford in Aberdeenshire imported some incalf heifers a few years ago. Not sure what happened to them as there is no cattle at the Sheil now

Bred for function and vigour, and IMO the main positive points are they are very healthy as a breed (opa, mv) and they haven’t been swung or pulled away from vigour and functional sheep in the chase of the latest fashion fad.

    Thinking of getting a beltex...am I mad

It’s just a personal preference to have them bare (ish) around the back of the head, tail head and maybe along the spine but not extremely bare. I keep the beltex cross Cheviot mule ewe lambs for breeding my main crop of terminal lambs, so their lambs need to also have good skins to sell them. I...

    Royal Highland Show Cancelled

I had a few beers in the members last year with a craibstone class mate of mine who happens to be a neighbour of yours @Chae1. He was dressed in the finest Mearns pink checked shirt, chinos and tweed jacket, and me in my Perthshire teuchter jeans blue checked shirt and shearing hoodie!! 😂😂😂😍

    Royal Highland Show Cancelled

Received the same yesterday. With the society claiming a bleak financial year, how much did that cost? Fancy postcards, SAE and paid envelope, donation form and cover letter. No option to pay BACS which is completely daft. Also 3 individual letters came here (mum, dad and myself) instead of one...
