production curves East West V due south

This thread is very interesting to me as a dairy farmer just about to install 70kw of panels on an East/West roof, the logic being that we will get more early and late as that is when we use the most electric, we are also going to put a new feed into the farmhouse from the farm so we can utilise...

    Claas or Kramer

Having just bought a new Kramer Kt407 after multiple JCB’s I am very impressed.Yes joystick does take some getting used to but the hydrostatic gearbox is so smooth compared to a torque converter. Hydraulics if anything are a bit to fast but you can turn them down.

    Alpro

Been using Delpro for two months now after changing parlours, has taken a while to get used to as we were running Alpro on a simple basis. Delpro wants you to input large amounts of info that I don’t need or want, but starting to find ways around it slowly.

Parlour wall coatings, which is best ?

Fibreglass been in for nearly twelve years, was good for about eight years then started to come away hence my thinking of not rendering the blocks to provide a good key.

Parlour wall coatings, which is best ?

Looking at wall coatings for a new parlour, previous one was done in fibreglass which looked perfect to start off with but is now starting to come away from the walls in various places. The walls are going to be built from blocks and possibly rendered although I quite liked the idea of not...

    Milking Parlour’s Upgrade Dilemma

No wagon here, we feed 2kg of protein rough mixed in with the maize and grass silages, cows eat all the cake before they’ve finished milking so it is not a problem from that side but probably doesn’t help them exit fast, I have tried feeding a higher base diet and less in the parlour but feed...

    Milking Parlour’s Upgrade Dilemma

They have and one of them has two parlours side by side and says it works well, my staff are not just robots but if they are milking for large periods of time I don’t expect them to deal with all issues that happen during milking until afterwards. I have spoken to someone who has done some...
