    Stick with a machine with a proven history , lots of people have said they can match a claas when going well but none have said they out perform a claas so at best you can only hope to match what you have now . Machines are to expensive and margins are to tight to take a chance on something...

    We used to solder joints but this is what we use now crimp connector with heat shrink best of both worlds and much quicker and easier . JD wont allow any solder joint's to be used during warranty work anymore because of wire breakage and resistance issues with modern electrics.

    Make sure you lie down before you read the quote for a new one, when we had that tractor and krone baler on demo in the summer we had to insure it for just over million $ the tractor on its own was well over $400k.

    Don't fixate on dead straight rows being effecient is more important, nothing worse than lots of short work just because the rake tractor was on gps and the driver didnt have the brains to turn off the gps and steer around a curve.

    Electrical problems shouldnt cause a machine to be parked up long term , while they can be harder to diagnose than old school mechanical machines they are generally easy to fix once the problem is found .
