My spring beans went in yesterday, a bit shallow too (2-2.5”) to drill issues!
could just end up being a cover crop so I’m going to try and spend the minimal on them!!
Yep I drilled late April two years ago, best crop I’ve ever seen, but then those two days at 40c made the stems snap over about halfway up! Cut them at 2am that year and they yielded 2t+/ac, can only imagine what they would have done if we hadn’t had that two day heatwave!!
Yep I’m in yr 3-5 of DD as I staggered starting and it’s not all been easy, I started in a terribly wet yet wrongly and this year is definitely a challenge. Interestingly my neighbour had a 2 yr head start which were good dry years and his ground looks brilliant! However I’m a mix of medium and...
I bought one in April 2021 for 86k (good spec & rtk) can’t believe they’ve jumped to almost 100k!! I went down from a puma 155, time will tell if I done the right thing, but happy so far…
Those that plant straight off the heap, does it have to be conventional? I’m thinking of going 10kg/Ha plus companions? Then if fails it can be a CC for spring beans…
I’ve had many pairs of Muckboots, don’t think they’re made as well as they used to be though. So comfortable and warm plus the top of them isn’t flared so you get less straw etc in them. Trouble is I’ve “hard heels” and wear the back lining out in 6 months ish and then they can rub a bit. They...
Hi are you still able to fix Tru-test weigh bars? If so roughly how much would it cost?
I’ve a 1000mm set with a 5i head and one bar is not working…
Thanks, Chris
Hi all
I’ve got one field of ww that’s ahead of the rest and I’m hoping to combine this week and bale straw off it.
I’m following it with osr and in the past I’ve just mixed berseem clover 50/50 in with the rape, however I’m wondering if as it’s early to lightly tickle the top next week and cast...
Hi all
I’m looking for a reliable hot pressure washer single or 3 phase, want something that you can get parts for in the future. We don’t have big usage, probably 2hrs a week on average, but want something that will last!
What are peoples thoughts on good ones and ones to avoid! Obviously don’t...
3yr ley (20% clover) cut three times a year for silage only when suitable to travel. Pig slurry on once two of the years at 20m3/ha and digestate on one year at 40m3/Ha. FYM at approx 20t/ha this September, harrowed after a week then drilled at 250kg/ha of Crusoe with a weaving gd the double...
Have you got any more info on this? sounds like it’s been one of my many many disasters with DDing WW into 3yr grass let this Autumn! Drilled late September in the dry and then had 2” of rain in 24hrs a week later, only the shaded headlands which I guess had more moisture have done any good…...
