We had a stock bull years ago that bred around 5 calves with one eyeball, and one calf had no eyeballs. The calf with no eyeballs was perfectly healthy. Once she always had the company of her peers she had absolutely no issues, and was fine in winter housing and out grazing.

Is there much of a saving in straw usage when using a spread-a-bale compared to just spreading the straw with a loader/by hand?

Yes something along those lines. Just something that wouldn't need to have cows drafted for mundane treatments like flies.

Is there such a thing as an auto doser for robots or a drafting race in a normal parlour? Thinking something that would apply fly treatment every 5-6weeks, without having to draft cows etc.
