Routine applications of any insecticide will eventually lead to resistance, happened with fb, only a matter of time before aphids become uncontrollable with insecticide
Selling most of ours. Rape doesn’t like a seed bed full of straw, and we don’t have the kit to properly incorporate yet, plus the local farmers are willing to pay the price.
Yep, that pretty much agrees with what I’m trying to convince myself of 👍 !!
It’s been 3 or 4 hours of on and off light rain/ drizzle, amounting to 0.8mm, hopefully the leaf will dry and I can empty the tank shortly 🤞
Probably a daft question, but will vetch and clover suffer if cut frequently while flowering ? The black grass is re heading every couple of weeks now, so needs to be cut, but I’m fearful of ending up with no legumes through continuous mowing. If anyone jas any experience of growing this stuff...
Putting different products in the same box with almost identical cans, cannot be described as a good idea in my book.
Just been emptying the boxes and stacking cans separately for tonight’s spray evening

The margins are there, with wheat at 350 and N at 1000, it’s more the high risk factor, and will N be available. Wait and see what the summer brings before I commit to anything is my plan.
As above, got a lot of wheat volunteers in the first spring of AB15, agronomist is convinced regular topping won’t sort them, and thus not going to make much of a break crop. I’m thinking/hoping they won’t survive through to next year. Anyone experienced anything similar in the past ?
Having rushed the last bit of barley in last night, when it would have benefited from another dry day, as it was forecast wet today and Wednesday evening, I’m feeling a bit irritated that the sun is shining and it’s now forecast dry till tomorrow!
Thinking it’s time I looked this, instead of taking the easy option of selling off the field or chopping . Anyone got any experience and tips to make it work for the best ?
Anyone else received an email saying they have hade their deadline extended to 1st April ? Wondering if it’s because we emailed them, and their response might take a while ?!!
