    Milkrite

Straight simple question. Are milkrite milking equipment any good? Are the reliable? The meters, ACR and the electric controller etc. Looking at upgrading our parlour. Their clusters/liners are the best...... in my opinion.

Wheat definitely has lower bushel weight this year. And forages higher in fibre. So you've hit the nail on the head, lower quality raw materials.

    Maize 2023

Just wondering how many of you have sampled & feeding 2023 maize? Any thoughts? Is it right that's it higher in fibre than usual? Or in true farmer language - cows look well but not pumping the milk out on it.

    Maize 2023

Maybe a little premature - but planning on growing more maize next year, but on marginal land. Heavy land 700+ feet above sea level. What variety works best for this situation? Had massive crop off P7326, but very small cobs. (all plants had double cobbs). This was on more suitable land for maize.

    ADF Milking

Vet is taking samples next week for bacteriology, but they are suspicious of contagious mastitis (staph???) based on our mastitis and cell counts records over past 18 months. Bulk tank peaked at 290 last month, haven't been under 200 this year. Never been a low cell count herd - always 150 - 200.

    JCB TM420

No. Drove one - plenty of power, don't believe that its under powered. It's a loading shovel with extra reach. I had a 536-60 6000 hrs in 4yrs, it was tired thought the 420 would last the pace better. But at £20k more & quite likely to need more fuel & more expensive tyres, I bought another 538-60.
