Has anyone tried the concrete slats that can be used for cattle and for sheep? Any good? Could keep youngstock till January, sell store and then bring ewes in.
October after their second summer, would be willing to change that, but calving in March suits us. Gets it done before lambing in April and allows May for spring work. Calves are then big enough to take all the milk from the spring grass, and are old enough to split from cows in October although...
I am right handed, and stand on the animals right. Left hand over its face and put my fingers into its mouth, avoiding the teeth, holding onto the top part. This makes them open their mouth and put head up. bolus gun in and job done. 95 percent are no problem, and there's an iae headsoop for...
And find it's mother in a crowded pen, those are my concerns, just that there isn't any grass for them until May, and March or even April can be rough on young calves or cows that have been wintered inside.
We are thinking about putting up a slatted shed. We would calve in March on straw, so was wondering what age would the calves need to be before putting the cows back on to slats with the calves having a bedded pen to creep into?
Also what would be the most efecient shed to build?
Thank you
Have wondered about wearing it round my neck, or attached to the back pack. but wouldn't be handy when filling the race. What I'm planning on doing is as you say, hang it from a bungee.
About 2000 maybe.
Mine has stopped working too, waiting on a response from tepari. How much is a repair likely to cost?
To answer the question, I just sit mine on a table
We have one and I like it. Better than using a trailer even a big one unless it's a very long lead. Much quicker than bale lifters. I think keltec would be better, but the trailyre was a lot cheaper.
