Am i reading this right? A farmer saying reduce rates! With respect that is not acceptable, we do not all have grade one or two land. If we are doing a public good we need proper payment.
The Lincolnshire footpaths officer told me there is legislation coming down the track which will allow farmers to divert footpaths around farmyards. This is based on health and safety and no expense. He said keep your eyes open.
Don't forget County and District councillors can claim all sorts of benefits when on so called council business plus have payments matched by the council into private pensions.
Just a comment, i had a gas pipe put under my land a few years ago. I had an agent paid for by the contractor, fine. Spoke to my neighbour after the work was completed, he had no agent, did everything his self. He finished with more compensation than me.
Regarding your last sentence 70% of beet growers backed the NFU 30% signed the British Sugar contract. That is not getting together. When the NFU got a better contract deal the 30% jumped back. They should have been left adrift.

It looks just like my 4000, I bought it new in 1972 K reg. It is still going strong starts first time every time. Done 16000 hours. Nothing major done to the engine, one clutch change. Done lots of jobs with me driving and i am not deaf, only selective hearing!
