    Ground Source Heat.

Can you check your incoming flow temperature from the loops? have you got heat meters and electric meters to calculate your COP?

    Fendt 828 reliability

The 828 is significantly more nimble, it will surprise you how much tighter it turns. It’s very light for its size too, this gets worse if you compare it to the new 900 which is significantly heavier. Just try and find one with warranty? The dealers round here have been perfect with any problems...

    Harvest 2023

Try the laid bit with a drill when you can? I’d say the soil wants to be dry ish at the time to bite into a disc. I haven’t ever tried ploughing it in straight away, only when trying to bury all the badly mixed trash.

    Harvest 2023

we’ve cut high and chopped linseed straw. It’s been our best yielding wheat following it this year, the linseed straw seems to lose its oiliness naturally over the year and break down. Completely different to leaving it in a bale all year, it’ll maintain its fibre form when it’s packed tight...

Vaderstad topdown set shallow? Alternatively if you’re on a budget find an old set of heavy Simba discs and tow a press behind

    Harvest 2023

We’ve got one of those, much prefer to use a 30yr old Opico though. Much lower servicing costs and you can walk away from it. 5k well spent IMO

    Pulling power 6250r vs 828

The Deere has way more power, but the Fendt makes up for it in comfort. Why not try the 728 rather than 828?

Banjo Full Port Easy Fill valves

    LPG Generator/CHP

I’m told that looking at it simply 1l of LPG should give you 2kwh of power. Should be installing one this summer

    Combined Heat and Power.

Ive really looked into this a lot over the past year, driven by electric and gas prices. Its an interesting conundrum, but I think I’d come to a decision of separating them. If you have a small engine type CHP that will heat your homes and workshop, and provide just enough electric for your...

    Combination cultivators - trio etc

The second gang of discs could block when the solo legs brought up moisture. Then again the topdown discs can push the cultivating legs out the ground in a hard dry summer. Need one of each!

    Simba free-flow direct drill

@farmerman are you still running this drill? Very curious how your getting on, I’ve got a similar project in mind and would love some pointers

    Who understands Vaderstad drills?

P - square F - phoenix metering, straight wheels and land wheel S - staggered with radar I think!

We’ve got Moore, they’re great but a little bit of concrete falls off each time you move them

    Fert Corrosion

100% the quickest and best way. Fertiliser is water soluble, the more we dilute it, the less it corrodes.

Same, but I’m sure the US bought Uranium from the USSR in the Cold War; which puts things in perspective

    Natures Solar Battery

I thought the same when burning linseed bales a few years ago. if you go down the CHP boiler rabbit hole it gets quite interesting. A woodchip gasifier setup seems the closest to being financially viable though, I seem to remember struggling to find a well priced straw boiler that would self...

    Which electric chainsaw ?

I don’t have a chainsaw, but noticed that a 9” grinder or big leaf blower overheats 5ah batteries, whereas the 12ah lasts proportionally longer as it’s cooler for the whole time. If you ever see a 12ah in the sales I’d highly recommend it for the bigger equipment

    Toyota Land Cruiser

It’s full time 4wd? My 2002 Colorado absolutely ate transfer cases, I believe it’s the same case in the later series with different linkage.
