Usually the valves clogged when air getting in and sucks in from the teat end. Also it’s better if the valve hangs vertically as gravity closes them. Have to make sure they’re fitted the right way as well.
Lambs do very well on heatwave. The milk is only heated as they draw it through the coil so you can mix large quantities of cold. They do drink a lot though. Best thing is the labour saving. Might even pay this time if prices stay up.
North midlands here and it is always May, but have sheep on. Traditionally round here ’grass day’ was 12th May, when milkers could go out night and day. Maybe climate change has altered this a bit. Very mild here today but back to square one with sogginess.
Have a logic here but don’t like it. Not because it’s logic but because i find it hard to control the application rate. Driving between clumps of nettles or whatever it’s spraying chemical. If you turn it down it’s not putting enough on. Would probably be alright on rushes but not so good on...
Hauled my logic snacker out of the shed for the first feeding this morning and I had a similar problem. The trapdoor was sticking open. Tipped it upside down so I could see what was happening and it was the slider jammed with crud nothing to do with electrics. Cleaned up and a bit of oil and I...
Surely they’ve seen all the invoices when you claimed? Might want to check you still have it for five years, but would have thought your time was past.
Not seen this subject mentioned before about reading electronic cattle tags. I bought some tags from Shearwell for this years calves but when I try to read them with a stick reader all I get is a long number not the UK number. Reading with the handheld is the same but tells me to link the long...
Did away with landline a few years ago when a new mobile mast went up locally. Can get a good signal anywhere on the farm and much cheaper than landline. Still get a few scammy calls but not as bad as before.
People confuse money with wealth. It’s easy to print paper money but that doesn’t increase goods. Real wealth is tangible assets, land, houses, gold, machinery etc. I suppose I’m a follower of the Austrian school of economics which basically says that you don’t get something for nothing in this...
I have been putting a bit away in the form of gold. I think the whole banking system is very shaky. As said by others take delivery of physical, not ‘paper gold’.
I saw a headline yesterday from FWeekly ‘farmer jailed for River Lugg damage defends his actions’ Who’s side are they on? Should have said ‘River Lugg maintenance’
Spent many hours on this tractor. My dad took the seat off and we always stood while driving. It died early sixties, big end bearings went and probably could have been repaired but things were moving on.
Had this problem about ten years ago, a pin hole in a mains piece of old black pipe. Found it by walking the line and saw a wet patch. It put about £700 on the bill. When I cut the leaky bit out and examined it closely I could see that it had been kinked when it was put in and straightened again...
