We do both ways.
Either put all bases 200 to 400 below FFL
Or put bases slightly under ground which is there and take their levels relative to FFL and make each column to suit
To be honest it’s a lot easier cutting steel to the mm then setting concrete to the mm especially when it’s setting...

One item which has kept quite stable is fibre cement sheets which were once similar price to box...

Up to say 50’ wide and say 16’ high steel sizes are reasonable
Over this they start rising in weight
Length wise obviously longer you go then it’s so much per bay
You have two gable ends though if it’s 40’long or 400’ long !
