As per title.
It's a silly question, but someone might know the answer.
I've just come home with a couple of new rolls of 1250mm x 3600m net and I'm pretty sure they're too fat to fit into the holder on the baler. If it does fit, it'll be very tight I imagine. Might have to go with a 3000m.......
I need to make one of these for an old Vicon 135 Balepack, which appears to share the same wrapper bed as the new Kuhn combis. New ones are extortionately priced for what they are, I reckon I could make a new one for about a grand. Already got the mounting brackets on the baler.
Anyone ever...
Morning
I'm finding on some of my late calvers coming through for AI for the first time that the inside of the cervix feels noticably sticky and you can feel the inseminator drag a bit as you push or pull it. When it first happened, I thought the cow was in calf (until I looked it up and found...
Morning.
One of these has come up locally at a very sharp price, tidy, 37,000 bales, retired farmers machine. Getting on a bit now but I don't mind mucking around with older gear and know my way around a spanner. Baling long, mature, dry silage & haylage.
They seem to be a bit of a marmite...
Morning
I'm looking for a 12v spreader to mount to the front of the tractor and broadcast grass/clover seed while I scratch it in with chain harrows. Need a spread width of about 2m.
Are the cheap Chinese ones any good? I'm not going to be doing lots of work with it, probably a couple of ha a...
Afternoon
Specifically speaking about the TM700 tyre, anyone know approximately when the Pirelli name was dropped from the sidewall and replaced with Trelleborg?
Morning
I'm looking at something like this to replace my stolen oxy acetylene gas plant. All I would be using it for is heating light (up to 12mm) stuff to bend it, heating stubborn nuts/bolts/bits, pre-heating before welding and very very occasionally brazing light stuff that I can't be...
Afternoon
Here's a page from the manual showing the open centre/fixed displacement hydraulic valve block from a budget model MKIII Agrotron 150:
I understand that with a fixed displacement pump, I'm always puming 83lpm of oil around the tractor. It seems silly to have such a large pump and...
Afternoon
I can't quite figure this one out and the manual doesn't tell me.
How do I grease the front axle pivot? I've found one grease nipple on the RH side for the front pivot point but I can't figure out how to get grease into the rear one. It looks like it's had grease in it at some point...
Got a job on the go that's not really thread worthy?
Not a QFB&C?
Not quite a NQFEorAQB?
Whatever it is, show us what you're working on today, TFF.
I'm desperately trying to revive the aircon system on my newly purchased Same but it's snowballing a bit (I probably shouldn't have bothered with...
Evening.
I currently make about 1,000 wrapped bales a season and have been slowly gearing up to do my own baling in order to cut costs and add flexibility (and stress).
With net/wrap/disposal costs rising and a growing social discontent regarding plastic wrap (and everything else that...
Evening
Anyone familiar with this system?
I've just come across some second hand LIC CellSense units (and the 24v power supply) at a very, very sharp price. No idea if they work or not, but I'm prepared to take a punt.
What kind of reagent do they run on? Is the cheap CMT (or what we call...
Evening
I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this one off without destroying it.
The two flat head screw things just keep turning around, no amount of levering or prying or swearing will remove it. If it's any help, it says "MADE IN ITALY" on it and if it's the original shaft/guard...
Evening
I'm about to be the owner of an older SAME Iron 150 but I can't figure out what engine it's got (I haven't seen the tractor in person yet, just been told it's a Deutz engine). Because it's not a 150.7, am I right in thinking it won't have a 7.1L Deutz engine? If so, what does it have...
It's probably a long shot, but does anyone happen to have a TI6000 floating around that they could measure for me?
I'm dealing with an idiot salesman who's not interested in putting the machine in transport position, taking the tine arms out, folding up the guards and measuring the overall...
Evening
Bit of a weird one, but I'll give it a go. What's the easiest, quickest, cheapest and safest way to lift and transport a 2 wheeler using a tractor & front end loader?
Back story: Occassionally, I need to drive a tractor to the other side of the farm, leave it there to do a long term...
Afternoon
I never read instructions, but for some reason I've stuck my head in the owners manual of my new (to me) Disco 3550.
I found this in there:
I can't say I've ever heard of an overrunning clutch needing to be routinely serviced, I just grease them regularly and don't point the water...
Morning
My local Kramp dealer is absolutely useless - no stock, extortionate pricing, generally not interested. Who is in the UK that I can buy small items from? I can provide a UK shipping address.
