First link says no evidence it does anything. I've complained about the second link and will see if I can get it adjusted or taken down. Have a look on something like NADIS if you want good quality impartial advice with expert oversight (any one can put any old crap on the internet)...
It needs to be prescribed by the farm vet. They need to have evidence that the product is needed despite usual treatments been exhausted (they don't often follow up on that but sometimes do, I guess they are justifying their existence to a degree).
The product is already in the UK but still...

We see it from time to time. Can be confused with enzootic on a placental smear. Sadly little you can do, but make sure you wear gloves when handling sheep and wash your hands well before eating etc. Particular care around young, elderly, pregnant and those with weakened immune systems.
I don't really like the entire tone of the thread. Just because an animal may have a temperature doesn't mean that the cow has a bacterial infection or there is a need for antibiotic therapy. I'm really not a fan for throwing treatment at animals when we don't know what we are treating - ie have...
If he had enzootic it would work very well indeed to spread the infection. It lays dormant until the next year.
One sheep cannot directly infect another with toxo so it would do nothing for that.
Works reasonably well for campylobacter.
Would happily spread things like salmonella to others...
In this case I very strongly disagree. All throwing doubt at the tests does it add worry and uncertainty in the farmer's minds. It's really not helpful. I waste a lot of my time battling this misinformation from farmers (and some vets). If the schemes did not work and you have scientific...
I wish. We have to log in with out own details and then fill in a series of pages with no option of going back and checking what has been inputted. It counts as a vet certification so there is no way I'd delegate it to admin staff. They are also a bugger to do.
With things like TB testing...
Yes, but a test that misses 60-70% of infected animals is next to useless. I'd argue we are much better killing an odd cow that doesn't have Johne's than missing some that do. One missed animal has the potential to do a lot of damage. Sensitivity far more important when looking at eradication...
Your vet seems very cheap for everything. Have you got some dirt on him/her? ;)
9/10 are straightforward filling in a form and then a licence arrives as a PDF. 1/10 ends up in a silly email exchange with them wanting lots of extra information to prove the need for a product to be imported. I...
I disagree. I make far more money treating clinical disease than preventing it.
In all honesty if everyone took my advice and did everything right I'd have to sack half the vets as I couldn't afford to keep them. I'm currently selling Bravoxin and Footvax at cost +£1 per bottle as otherwise...
I think one of the biggest problems we have trying to 'sell' preventative medicine is when we get it right nothing happens. You feel like you are spending money and seeing nothing and that's exactly what we want to happen. Lots of healthy lambs, grow quickly, minimal losses, minimal therapeutic...
It's called preventative medicine. If you'd seen some of the things I had then you'd see where we are coming from.
Enzootic builds up year on year. If you do nothing else I'd reconsider vaccinating for that.
You sometimes see toxo outbreaks but it can affect any stage of pregnancy so...
What type of cows? What is the herd history - ie has clinical disease ever been identified?
Initially a whole herd screen in beef or a 30 cow screen in dairy. If doing bloods the 'best' time would be in the couple of months after calving and at least 60 days after a TB test.
If the herd has a...
