Thought I would share the first successful help the community project by Heritage Defenders for Shotgate parish council and Wickford town football club 👍
As you are the only one to reply Red Fred I would like to thank you for at least reading my post. I thought I would at least post a pic up of me doing what I love, excuse the hair as it's my lockdown hair do 🤣 👍
I do Red Fred but honestly had zero response so had to try different types of land rather then farms which has given the group a start, I also do a free training down Southend for people new to the hobby to improve the image of detecting. I have successfully found a few small grazing fields from...
I am seeking work in the Essex area, I am strong, fit and reliable and not afraid of getting stuck in or dirty. I am a good honest bloke in need of a something to bring a wage in and don't stick my nose up at any type of work. Please contact if any opportunities.
If anyone can help me gain metal detecting permission then I will help with a shooting permission :), same struggle, different hobbies lol. Best of luck either way
Try letters door to door at farms offering free pest control for shooting permission, including experience and references if any and a nice bottle doesn't hurt ;)
No fuss, No stress! 6 mates looking for some farm fields to detect for a weekend metal detecting trip 8am to 4pm, all experienced and insured and members of an Essex metal detecting club wanting a lads camping trip away. We follow any rules set and stick to all boundaries set. We are all good...
Hi all,
I am strong and fit with 10 years warehouse experience and performed as a worker then supervisor and eventually management which I did not enjoy as I was limited to a desk. I am looking for any possible work as I was made redundant due to covid and cannot survive on benefits and...
I believe a farm is a beautiful thing, my favourite time is the break of dawn the song birds sing.
I walk with pride with detector and spade in hand, I am always lost in thought of what secrets are lost beneath the land.
I think of old time paths and ancient battles across the golden fields...
Hi, I will be fully honest and say that I managed to gain a farm permission and it was going very well at the start, I decided to also get a friend permission ( a mistake I wont make again). We went in on a verbal agreement between friends to share any treasure of anything of significant value...

Hi my name is Michael and I am just posting to ask if you would consider allowing me to metal detect any available fields whether it be plough/grass or rough land you may have or that have been harvested? I am quiet, honest and respectful and cause no trouble...
Essex Lad here :) I have been detecting for a year and a half and spent a year searching for a farm permission, I finally found one with more land then I can cover and I have already found a James 1st shilling and sharing value with the land owner once sold. Through good behavior and a constant...
Hi everyone,
I have posted before but I am changing my approach and hope this is more suitable. I am a history seeker seeking land to enjoy my hobby on the weekend, I the peaceful solo side of the hobby so I have joined a group but seek somewhere to start my own journey.
I detect once or twice...
wow I can not even offer free work in Essex? After 60 letter's, 350 emails, asking friends and family and door knocking on the doors of local farms which I don't drive so is an all day affair, I have spent countless hours online during lockdown trying to find ways to connect and earn trust, I...
I have shared the post on my facebook and farmland ads I have through detecting for you and will let you know if any luck from my end. happy to help even if a no to the previous, I just want to build trust with the farming community which I know takes time.
Hi, long shot but I metal detect well I did before lockdown but seems non contact sport and hobby may be allowed soon. I know this crisis has caused hardships and know it sounds mad but I am a farther of 4 who just want to detect on the weekends if the government allows and find a little...
Hi everyone,
There are some who already know that I am a metal detectorist and I am trying to gain my first farm permission (incredibly hard) for when the lock down ends and the country is safe, I know it seems like a sad hobby to some but I truly love it! This is my way of trying to earn my...
Why because I metal detect? I have to gain permission and there is no detecting during this epidemic as I respect that no farmer would want people on there fields right now. I wanted to give honest opinion from a non farmer that is all.
I am a detectorist not a farmer but I dont think dogs should be allowed on footpaths through farms with livestock at all, people should but not during a epidemic simple. I would be concerned too.
