    SFI for idiots

£151/ha for low input grassland outside SDA. Add in the Integrated Pest Management and nutrient management plan - helps more on smaller units. Sweet FA on offer for intensive livestock farms as far as I can work out. As others have pointed out it is aimed at lowering production, when global...

The "real" truth of why the uk, needs to build, 100s of thousands of new "homes"?

People are also living longer and possibly not wanting to give up their large family home, even when one half dies. Which I fully understand. Also, rather a lot of "investment" properties let on Airbnb etc, which take a chunk of housing stock off the market. Think it is a complex issue and not...

Any come back on this dead beast ?

Buyer beware I was always told. Guess in a ring you couldn't inspect effectively. It's rather sneaky of the seller in my opinion, as they knew what they were selling.

    The war in Ukraine...

Too true. They have military in dozens of countries from Moldova, Armenia, Georgia,Syria, to several African ones, and probably Cuba too so that figure of 2 bases quoted above is utter gonads.

    Harvest 2023

Haha, not wishing to disparage TFF but I don't think the trade rely solely on TFF for their inside info. However, land agents, landlords, DEFRA, RPA peeps etc will all glean good info on how UK farming is performing from these sort of comments and adjust their money laundering accordingly.

    Close call accident thread?

This thread could be never ending, but even if it highlights a few risks to a few people, and they now take precautionary measures then it is a worthy read. Mini digger, too small for the job I was doing, pulling away at a tree root and it suddenly gave way. Digger lurched backwards, I lurched...

    Close call accident thread?

Most of the above involve machinery or power tools etc. It is also easy to injure yourself with manual jobs. I was putting fence posts into softish land.
