I did the same in 86, came back in time for highland show,I went back again in 90 and stupidly came back again for spring work 91, because it was expected of me 🙄, last number of years I have really regretted taking that return flight 🤦

Sorry,I was referring to the comment that suggested letting the ewe out,for the record,I don't think those lamb adopter contraptions are any use at all, sheep are far too vindictive a species too adopt another ewes lamb, especially when many of them don't even want their own!
I would happily grow hybrid whole crop rye again, provided the economics were right,as @DRC points out,I assume you will just be growing the crop and AD plant will harvest?,that in itself is a huge bonus, along with good control of grass weeds,and earlier cash return than combineables
