Couple of little new toys we’ve got this last few month, cheap jack hammer which is surprisingly good and a lot better than a hammer and chisel, and laser, (should’ve bought one years ago, very handy) bought off laser levels, excellent service from them.
If I hear one more dairy farmer (from the comfort of their parlour/shed/house) twine about how terrible it is because they can’t spread slurry or get their fert on, I’m gonna cover them in molasses, chuck some ewe rolls on them then drop them off in the middle of a field full of our ewes and see...
Yes, dairy cows were coming in, sheep everywhere and pens not washed out for the cows 🙈🙈 couple of lambs in one pen had fulfilled their lifetime ambition too 🙈
Not entirely sure really, got a couple of extra buyers which helped the trade, especially the ewes, then Irish sheep started coming then more from all over.
Sellers don’t either! Used to set off at 9 and be home for dinner, now we have to take lambs first then go back to see them sold! They might end up being a victim of they’re own success
Bit easier at Carlisle, we seemed to have a bad trade on the day too, but were getting into the cleanings up so not as good as quality.
good big sheep still coming to good money, lot in, it would be near 7 when they got finished
There’s odd ones getting about around here now and sounds like they’re not giving much bother.
Crazy how the deals/prices can vary so much, how much mark up are the manufacturers/dealers playing with!
