    Low N Malting Barley.

100% clearance of Diablo "here" all in spec and shifted in 2 days, all done 3 weeks ago. What are they playing at! Mind you it was only 4 loads and had been grown with loads of N just to get yield, did 3.2t/ac only got £130/t for it mind! Mmmm maybe thats the reason!

    Low N Malting Barley.

Ideally they want a good price with no comeback if quality is poor, the other side wants it cheap cheap cheap

Thats the trouble we can lay off risk using futures contracts but you still want no obligation to supply, can't have it both ways. If I sell wheat for may 21 I have to supply, ok if I'm short it might be wheat harvested in August.

Had two collies in a row, along with spaniels. Both of them, despite lots of socialisation have been very antisocial! So wife didn't want another one as they were both nippy, guard dog types, no matter what you tried with them. Both were perfect,y fine with people they knew but were excellent...

Rather get a pup so we know what it's upbringing is like. Seems like some of the proffesional breeders have stopped just now, tried to get one from dogs Trust and because the dog wouldn't be with me or my wife every second of the day we couldn't have one. Never mind that they would be with...

This is why the U.K. cant compete

Also a long way from markets, rely on expensive rail to move a lot of the goods, low yields, still pay same price as everyone else for inputs etc. Two sides of the same coin, but yes we could learn from bigger operations. We need to reduce fixed costs but keep yields up, maybe by cooperation!

    Growing grain rye.

Acke! This will be our 5th harvest, been averaging from 7.5 to 10t/ha. kws keep bringing out better varieties which give better yields. Ive never tried non hybrids due to the perceived ergot risk. Do you get a lot in your crops? Also had some SU varieties.

It could be worse, you could be putting it into central storage.

I've not heard of it having no BYDV issues.

    Growing grain rye.

I'll have about 30% in their pool, woi,d rather a fixed price or a wheat based one but we will see how it goes. Ive already informed the that their seed is a little bit more expensive than my usual sources. You could go for cheaper seed but it is cheaper for a reason. Vibrance isnt worth it...

    Growing grain rye.

I've signed up some into a pool to allow me to grow more tonnage with an outlet but the rest is grown on spec at the moment, there is interest but its hard going, been at it for 5 seasons now and had carry over from 2018 that has only just shifted, but at least it was for decent money, we have...

    Growing grain rye.

Should be worth more than barley as its between wheat and barley in nutrition terms, it should be linked to wheat price somehow to give the option to hedge a forward price. 2 maybe 3 fungicides and 2 splits 150 kgN total. plenty PGR if you think you've done enough gjve it some more. Can get...

    Harvest/Yields 2020

The winter barley has surprised me, not a lot of straw and from 6.5 to 9t/ha, depending on variety and field /soil . Kingsbarns best but was on best field, mountain and libra ok, Sunningdale poorer and a poor sample.

Border Livestock Tender Sale / PSQ's 'Sale of the Century'

Under different management though ! There were quite a few went there for sandwich year and I don't think the accommodation was much to write home about.
