Don’t they ever! I bought a couple of 20 tonne loads last year, used about half and the remaining half got left until I tried to load them a month or so back to fill some potholes - could barely scrape the surface with the loader on my old DB 1390. Neighbour managed to loosen up a bit using his...
Another possibility - OP mentioned in his first post that there was black gunge on the thermostat when he inspected. Could same gunge be fouling the water pump impellor?
You‘ve said previously that you took the the thermostat out and cranked over the engine and water shot out? In my admittedly limited experience that doesn’t sound right, what I’ve seen is you just see a “swirling” of water at the top of the radiator.
The fact it does shoot out that suggests...

For heavens sake, as I suggested yesterday, take the water pump of and check that, it’s the most obvious candidate to be causing a problem, discussing it on here isn’t going to get you any closer to sorting.
Immediate question is whether the water pump is working. Personally I’d remove it and check if the impeller is free and if the blades look OK. Alternatively slacken the fan belt and see if you can turn the pump pulley without resistance.
if it helps
Absolutely…. I drive over to South `Yorks from here (Shropshire) every few months to see my sister. I always use the M6 toll to avoid getting stuck in a traffic jam on the M6 and usually stop at Norton Cane for a Costa Coffee and a Bakewell tart, probably adds £15 to the cost of the journey...
See if this helps.

Although you said “apart from pressure washing” - I had similar problem outside our back door. Bought a rotating pressure washer attachment for the Nilfisk pressure washer which did an excellent job in cleaning up the paving slabs.
First of all do some research - Google for videos and try to find an online repair manual, or failing that buy one which will guide you on the basics. I have a I&T manual which does a good job on covering the basics - page from relevant section attached below, it’s for the 1390 but doubt there...
Another vote for powercable extenders, relatively cheap, almost plug and play and no need for extra wiring. This place has thick stone walls and I’ve got three fitted. - two downstairs and one upstairs and WiFi excellent.

Hi,
Might be an idea to check out this group on Facebook

In the files section there are manuals, parts lists etc for virtually all DB's including the 880. I had a quick look at the manual for the 880 and it says in cold weather you need to...
Decided to take my own advice and bought a metal marking pen from Amazon - the one I bought was just over £5. Tried it on a spanner - see photo, paint can be scratched off with a thumbnail, but I suspect would last for a reasonable while if spanner just used normally.
Didn’t read your original post properly. If you just want to write on the spanner, there are paints that will apparently do it. Google “metal marking paints”.
