I’ve a claas liner 390 single rotor - does a nice job & set up properly it kisses the ground leaving nothing & not collecting stones & soil. I’d say get 1 on bogey axle/ 4 wheels, used 1 without & was a pain as didn’t follow the ground at all - might not be an issue on your fields tho!
Hycrack on a 35 here. Hydraulic 1 was slow on it. You have to be careful how you load the log onto the cone but it’s not that dangerous. It’d split the logs in your pic on high tick over. Once the log takes hold of the screw tip move your hands out the way - no need to hold on to it. Also to...
I’ve tried it. The premium for producing runner type mule gimmer lambs wasn’t there to warrant doing it. Crossed to tex instead of bfl to produce a more ‘store’ lamb. Liked them but seemed a lot of variability in the gimmers I kept by the time they’d grown to shearlings…. Will keep doing it but...
Hello All, I’m considering a fresh tractor. Will be main/loader tractor on a small sheep farm. Got steep hills & fields spread over 3 miles.
Has anyone experience on Zetor Proxima HS tractors? Seem well spec’d & similar to current tractor (3 splitter, push out PUH, decent seat) only zetor...
www.tunstalltractors.com not to far a journey from Workington - doubt there’s a dealer in cumbria with more tractors for sale, proper interesting mix of ages, makes, models & always up for a deal!
My tractors broken down & I’ve got a 5455 on loan. It’s got electric hydraulics. Can anyone tell me how to activate them? The rocker switch will only let them down ridiculously slowly - I’m sure I’m doing something wrong but after a lot of messing & getting totally p1ssed off I’ve not worked it...
I’ve chance of a well looked after Reco RC52 round baler. It’s sub £2k, net wrap & sold as all working. I know it’s old but is it worth a go for doing around 150/200 hay/haylage bales per year? I’ve lots of small fields that are spread out. Means being anywhere near the top of contractor...
Shetland’s would be worth a consideration. Smaller & hardy, out winter well, lots of colour ways for interest & are friendly & docile. Another advantage is large pelvis so cross to continentals well - helps get over the ‘hobby farm stigma’!! Even tho that’s what I am😂
I’ve a Vicon 168 - where the red paints scratched off it’s bright green underneath! I guess it’s a Samasz in disguise?
I would imagine the red paint & stickers were expensive when it was new! It’s a good mower, although I’m looking to change it for a wider machine
Hi, any feed back on either of these tyre brands being better than the other please? Within £20 of each other. 16.9 R34’s on a fairly low use stock tractor - hence the ‘budget’ choice.

don’t know anything about it, just think it looks good! Would do the job easy I think
No the pedal has no ‘feel’ or ‘bite point’ just up & down - feels disconnected but isn’t at least not externally.
interesting about oil contam - noticed the engine was very low, so changed + new filter about a week ago - could this be the source? There’s no visible oil leak in the floor. So was...
Got an MF250 that suddenly won’t change gear. Suddenly for no apparent reason clutch has basically stopped working. To get a gear I started it in gear & crashed the high/low lever in to gear, if you depress the clutch nothing happens, it keeps driving. All external linkages appear ok & working...
