Hi,
I'm needing a steel frame portal building and wondered if anyone can recommend some pembrokeshire firms? Just need the steel work for a 60 x 20 x 12ft to eaves.
Cheers
Hi,
I'm needing to badger proof a field. I've got the fencing sorted but I am loath to put in full mesh or solid gates to keep them out.
Has anyone ever hooked up a standard galv steel field gate and electrified it as part of their electric fencing?
Cheers!
Here's some facts.
You can get agricultural mortgages. They will not lend to start ups so you will have to have a business already up and running and the previous 3 years books will be the proof of affordability and dictate how much you can borrow. LTV is 50 - 60%. Current interest rates are...
Hi,
Has anyone used these plastic posts? How did you get on with putting strainers in - were you able to knock in 200mm diameter posts or did you have to dig a pilot hole first due to the flex?
Cheers

Hi all,
Anyone got any idea how much a new 32mm supply pipe to an existing water main costs these days? Single track road would need closing, our land is directly off it, main pipe is 130m up the road.
(Severn Trent water area)
Cheers
Does anyone have experience of putting in a new ribbon track? We need to put in a 3m wide compacted stone vehicular access track and a continuous track (across the width) will look out of proportion in our small field.
I understand they have their issues but i'd be interested to hear from folk...
Does anyone put nuts on the bolts first (then leg, then hold down nuts on top) to level the legs by adjusting the nuts underneath before tightening down?
Would that be better than shimming or is that a no-no?
…….to be asked permission for me to dig a trench at the edge of your field to put in a new electricity supply from a pole sited on your land?
I wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on the do’s and don’ts because I want to get it right.
I think that’s the case too - fair enough i guess though if I documented the work and carried it out to spec (photo before and after keep invoices etc), I’m not sure I understand why you couldn’t at least do the work at point of applying?
If anyone has tried id be interested to hear about your...
We want to apply for higher tier and capital grants now. Should we be successful, we’d obviously have to wait until 2023 to carry out the work and claim.
Waiting for the work hamstrings our operation quite a bit. Can we carry out and document the work in 2022 and claim (should our app be...
Coffer sounds good - in this instance would that mean digging a second, deeper trench across the ditch upstream and pumping over the new mains trench whilst work was being done?
Good point! Im thinking about drainage at the mo too and I've mixed them up in my mind without thinking much about it. No reason not to go 750mm deep under the ditch and then back up again with pressurised mains pipe!
Thanks all. Really helpful and valuable advice.
If we wanted to make a new entrance into the field at a similar time, can anyone think of reasons why digging a shallow trench across the ditch, placing the mains pipe in ducting in the ditch (below level of the ditch bottom) and building a piped...
