Your first problem will be sourcing day olds at reasonable cost, with bird flue rife I don’t think you would get many hatcheries to commit to a new customer this early on, it’s going to be a long winter for anyone keeping back laying stock
Pretty much my thoughts tbh, I love the little basic simple 35, and the boys don’t spin the wheels up for obvious reasons, just struggles with the bulk from the 4.5m pens, I can get the bulk with telehandler but it’s tight and only going to be a matter of time before something gets broke
As title really, two types of wean to finish units two 100x50s with 8’ scrape passage each side and new deep litter with scrape one side and 4.5m pens in a 120x55, currently scrapping with a 35 and wanted to get the new shed running before buying a compact ish machine, telehandler on site for...
Coverwell paint if really good on tin and timber, can be sprayed, https://m.facebook.com/hrnewmarket/photos/coverwell-paint-a-specially-formulated-environmentally-friendly-range-of-colour-/10154104466132070/ used this quite a bit and cheaper than bedec barn paint
I’ve got the 230mm twin 18v Makita and would buy another tomorrow it’s bloody brilliant mitre cutting fibre cement on a roof, no leads to trip over or keep moving also have the 125mm, you need spare batteries with what ever brand you buy as their is nothing more frustrating than waiting for bats...
Have heard through grapevine (reliable) that timber is starting to slow as timber is sat on docks Yarmouth and Ipswich and being offered to merchants at reduced rates to clear before next loads turn up, just need steel to follow suit!
I use a small 285 Makita wrench as it’s quite compact but still take breaker bar to check and use in tight areas, cut most tin with a 136 mm metal circular saw which is good but bloody noisy, again makita, gets through blades fairly but does a better job, eye protection is a must! Podger for...
Don’t think it was by choice, just not the finishing spaces available, don’t see it lasting for long, transport and stress off moving takes the edge of this system, but it ticks a lot of other boxes like same source and getting piglets started better
The fans basically draw the hot air from the apex in the roof and sends it higher into the atmosphere, where it’s meant to disperse at a more diluted rate than blowing out of doors and windows 🤔 bloody more like job creation and a few more quid down the pan to get pp I reckon! Thou on a still...
It is, we now have a contractor wash out as turn round time is tight, it’s a lot of extra work tbh, just get them settled and how you want them and they are gone again,
All the usual, fans and curtains, but on our last application we had moved from wean to finish to a super nursery system, keeping 3x more headage but only for 5 weeks on farm, which NE were more than happy with
