I went to a pub near a Premiership football ground recently, just after kick off. Signs up on beer taps “Cash only”. I only had card, they said “It’s ok, we just put those signs up when we’re busy to speed up serving.” Occurred to me that contactless card is probably quicker than taking cash...

@Matt14 good thread. Only 10% of slaughter cattle go through a ring. So where is the price discovery? Some with volume will get sweetheart deals above base, but imagine where the base would be if buyers had to go to market every day and compete to buy the cattle they need!
