My friends and I often send each other voice messages when we want to explain something in more detail but the other person can't call. It's also rare that I'll make a normal phone call because I normally video call people instead

That's why I left, other than for work. If I saw something that annoyed me I'd have to share my opinion...and then I'd spend all night in petty arguments with strangers on the internet, not worth it

Some providers won't let you unlock for 12 months. It could all have changed now though, its been 3 or 4 years since I worked in a phone shop

I used to work at O2. Normally if you call the provider the phone is locked to you can get it unlocked. Not sure if the person calling needs to be the original owner though to try and stop thefts etc. Are you looing to buy second hand or from EE or Vodaphone direct?
