Thanks for all the replies, would anyone know where to find a service or parts manual for a barford SX5000? all i have is a operators manual which isn't much use and i cant find anything else for them.

That might just be it! I remember when I changed the filter there was the 4 inserts 2 different sizes I wonder if I put them back in the wrong place

Fuel and air filters changed a couple of months back not lift pump. Might try the fuel filters again

Not sure it starts and ticks over fine but has no revs and just crawls along

Back to the drawing board, I’ve changed transmission oil and filter but still same problem it’s as if there is some sort of restrictor in place

Hi I have a problem with my old barford dumper where it has no guts? It starts on the key first time every time and runs fine but has absolutely no guts and just limps around at about 2 mph in all gears? Any suggestions much appreciated. Cheers Barry

Yes that’s exactly what’s happening, I’ve already tried a new f/r switch albeit a different model with same problem so I’m guessing it’s as you say a wiring fault from solenoid to switch Thanks for your help 👍🏻

Hi, need some help with my old barford sx5000 dumper. It has decided to stop going forward and only move in reverse!!. If i swap the plugs on the directional solenoids it changes to only going forward with no reverse , is this telling me that the directional Solenoid valve is faulty or what ever...
