Would you still build it without the grant? Decision on funding and scheme details seem a long way off if you already have planning, add in some crazy price inflation between now and grant approval and the inevitable price hike when “grant” gets mentioned and current quote might seem cheap...

Hard to disagree with any of that though the cost of compliance with new regulations (covered slurry storage, nvz and others) will be the next major financial investment for most regardless herd size, whether owned or rented or farming system and will have none or very little payback.

Prices are really needing to rise by a reasonable amount the way input prices are rocketing, but won’t be holding my breath for any great increase!

Quite a few tricky steep stuff here which needs a bit of care but manageable with a bit of thought and planning as to best way to cut it

That would be pretty second hand? Take it you got the trailer that tips sideways with the beaters along the side? The flywheel forager design is wonderfully simple and robust
