    Knapweed and Haymaking

Mature is certainly one way of describing it. Ideally I should have taken a cut at the back end of June. But now after the advice I’ve been given I’m feeling positive enough to bale some in the next few days weather permitting. Fingers crossed. Thanks to all.

    Knapweed and Haymaking

Thanks for your word Simon. We’ve consistently dug out the ragwort ragwort which fortunately wasn’t a big issue but the hardness of the Knapweed flower head concerns me. I know it’s not poisonous and that sheep will eat it ( and almost anything in winter ) but would cattle?

    Knapweed and Haymaking

Have just started making small bales. One decent field produced some nice stuff but two remaining fields have what seems like a fair amount of Knapweed. When is too much and would it make the hay unsaleable? Don’t want to bale it and be left with bales nobody wants.

    New Holland 376 Rail adjustment

Would you be open to giving some help on setting up rails on a nh65 e. I’ve just made some new wooden slides/ bearers but we are struggling to reset the small guide on the knife side. We don’t know if it should be flush with static knife in which case wooden slides are way to wide. Or if the...

    New Holland 65 baler wanted.

Many thanks Mike. Since my original post I have actually bought a 65e which is complete though I’m sure the knotters would also fit the 65. I’m holding fire on the refurb of the 65 as I m trying to gather all the parts before starting. It’s missing a difficult to find side panel and pto assembly...

Many thanks. I’ve seen this one advertised and have wondered why a new Molon or Sip is 3 or 4 times the price?

Just about to order new roller bearings for the feeder finger carriage for the 65. Old ones look like wood but wondered if a more modern material would work. Looked at Messicks in US offer two types Bearing, Wood;Used On & BSN 5200. Bearing, Phenolic, Roller;Used On & ASN 5201 What’s the...

    New Holland 65 baler wanted.

Is it raining down there? The bent and twisted nh 65 I bought with a drum mower resting on top of it isn’t a patch on yours but it shares the same beautiful durability of its engineering. Nothing has yet snapped or sheared or bolts de-thread or and every day reveals an integrity that simply...

    New Holland 65 baler wanted.

It was nice to talk to you and many thanks for the video and photos of what looks like an absolute gem of a baler. I’ve now had time to have a look at similar sized machines and have come to the conclusion that my little tractor just wouldn’t have the weight to operate this safely on the hilly...
