What do you do all day?

Done a fair bit of that since I posted this, from our hedgelaying. Been busy with the milk vending machine, TB testing, foot trimming, moving ley sheep around, and general jobs. I do enjoy having an hour in the afternoon to do nothing sometimes.

What do you do all day?

Thanks for the none judgemental replies 😄 Without spending on a bigger cubicle shed, slurry storage and a bigger parlour and clamp there's no way to increase cows, feels a bit of a waste of time when there's nothing to do. We do our own foot trimming which is a go-to job aswell. What do...

What do you do all day?

I work on a family farm, probably not milking enough cows for the amount of staff we've got, but now the winters here It's a struggle to fill the days with work. Usually jobbed up by lunchtime then it's a few hours until pm milking. Probably start hedgelaying soon but thats barely worth it.

Are straw choppers really worth it?

Did 10 years of bedding down by hand, i'd rather keep my back intact for a bit longer than maul straw around for hours

family succession and planning for the future? just wondering how many of you find this a positive experience and have any tips and advice for others?

Pretty well thanks, we started with just milk but since we added Milkshakes, sales have gone up a lot. It's still early days and it's a lot of work but it's nice to finally get a fair price for at least a few litres!
