Thank you Ukjay, essentially I came on here as a first time poster. Not looking for anyone saying who is right or wrong, not taking sides with anyone, just a balanced view and opinions from both sides of the fence. The majority have provided that, and I thank them for that, and they have added...
So, once again (this is sooooooo tiring).
1. The improvements are for ME- I've been very open and clear about that!
2. There will be NO restrictions
3. I do NOT want to claim the track as my own.I have no intention of leaving here
4. Suspicious of intention - again, I have been very clear of...
So, on that point, can people never, ever look at trying to improve things? Do things always have to be as they always were? No room for any improvements?
Times move on and we have simply lived with the current situation for several years (without jumping straight in) and have now offered...
I thInk this just shows the mentality of some of the characters on this forum. Well done for your contribution, invaluable! Thankfully, the farmer neighbour is a decent person, unlike you by the sounds of it
Hi kiwipom, yes, we have to open and close the gate when the sheep are present. Whrn I bought the house, I queried this gate with the homeowner at the time who told me the farm were planning on putting in a cattlegrid- suffice to say that over 2 years later there is no cattle grid. In hindsight...
You really do like to read betweenthelines don't you? But unfortunately you are wrong on every single presumption you have made on this thread. You really have some imagination!
So, despite having said I wouldn't comment further, I feel the need to reply to the last post.
See attached photo - this is one nights shi*e. Would you not want to try and prevent this on your track and reach a solution that works for all parties? I guess not many of you have to drive through...
Final post from me (the OP). The farmer was ok with me laying the track, he couldnt have cared less, just didnt want (or need) to do it.
So, thank you for all the comments, some appreciated and some really helpful. Some not so particularly those that decided to jump into the thread without...
No one is asking him to pay for its upgrade - I've never asked for a penny from him. I appreciate it is me who wants to improve the track, not him, so why should I really expect him to pay? See - I'm quite reasonable!!
Thanks Highland Mule - I'm amazed at the negativity too. All I've asked for is a little help with protecting the track. I reckon I've been a pretty good neighbour. If I was a farmer, I would be only too pleased to have someone who is willing to help my animals living close by and help/intervene...
to the contrary, it would remove the current requirement to open/close a gate everytime the track is driven, which when it is pis*ing down and dark would be quite a bonus!
