Hi all. Thanks for so many useful pieces of info. I've got a couple of sections of crash barrier, as it happens which I could stick end to end. Failing that, sleeping policeman sounds sensible too!
We've made a drain and run a pipe on one side of a track that works well at taking alot of surface water away from higher up. I want to put in something diagonally across the track, a little higher up, to make sure all water is channelled to the correct side of the track and into the drain...
Hi everyone
Been tinkering away, off and on between other jobs (as usual). I took out the tank and jet washed it, removed the tank filter and cleaned / blew out. Removed the lift pump and cleaned along with the gauze filter. Blew out the fuel lines to the tank. Put it all back together...
Really appreciate everyone's help. Sorry, a couple more things:
OK, latest: I got the fuel tank out. Actually turned out to be quite easy to take the fuel lines off - I was just being a schmuck! Quite a bit of sludge in the bottom and the tank filter is gunked up to about 1/3. So firstly...
Was tempted to start a new post - but continuing here. Have seen some improvements with cleaning the lift pump filter (brass gauze) and with the new fuel filter. However, still getting loss of power, near stalling issues. So I'm removing the fuel tank and going to blow out / check the fuel...
I took off the lift pump and didn't find a brass gauze. I'm still looking for a primary filter, and also how to remove the tank. To add to the dilemma, my cab doesn't have the gas struts to support the cab in the open position - so I need to find a safe way of supporting it without getting...
Don't know if there is a pre filter in the lift pump. Manual didn't point towards one on my Tier 2 machine - although there is one clearly shown in the Tier 3 machines. Will check the tank and the air filter, thanks.
Replaced the fuel filter today which had a good effect on engine power - particularly engine revs. So that obviously needed doing! However, there's still a problem in certain circumstances - in particular when tracking and pushing with the dozer. The machine can stall badly, and then...
Using my JCB 8014 today. Under load, the engine can stall despite being on maximum revs. Small rams don't affect it but it does happen when using the bigger arm rams and the tracking motors.
Any ideas on why this is happening. Hydraulic fluid level is good.
Thanks
Want to stack some pyramids of round hay bales in the field the cover with toptex. Anyone got any info / links on orientation of stacks for best wind flow.
Thanks
All really useful stuff. Thanks everyone. I'll look at GRI and BKT. Now wondering about water ballast versus weight(s). Waiting quotes from local tyre firm to see what they come up with. I'll need to use them to fit the tyres anyway.
