Have been looking over the last couple of years at the more simple direct drills from Moore, Erth and Weaving.
Main jobs would be stitching in grass, sowing stubble turnips and maybe the odd field of cereals if conditions are right.
Just looking for any advice or people's experience of the...
Neighbour up the road from us bought a piece of ground 18 months ago complete with redundant badger set in what was I think an old hedge line.
They had to have some surveys done to prove it was empty but have grubbed out the set along with some trees and bushes.
I always think places like that are prime targets for cyber attacks.
A friend of mine is a manager for a large potato grower and grows for Walkers.
If I remember correctly they are owned by PepsiCo and they updated their IT system in the US.

Looking at the 3 metre direct drill option here. (Erth, Moore type)
Mainly for grass and cover crop and a few acres of cereals if conditions are right.
Was going along the lines of a twin hopper version but realistically probably won't do much if any with fert so now wondering if I'd be better...

On heavy land we can and do go up to 50,000 but last year we dropped some of the better land to 40'000 from 43,000 with no reduction in yield.
A friend of mine knows someone who's down in the high thirties, again allegedly with no yield penalty but we haven't...
I was told yesterday by a friend who is an agent that the intended opening date was next week but it may not happen as they have a backlog of last year's claims to pay out on so it may be delayed until they've cleared it, possibly March 🤔
I've been talking to a lad on Facebook this afternoon. His family farm a fair bit of land on the south side of the Stiperstones.
They knew nothing about it.
I know several other farmers in the immediate area who are bound to be affected by it, all hard working family farms 🫤
We've gone back to hanging everything off the back. The front tank approach worked well but our homemade setup didn't come without it's issues and I just couldn't justify the cost of a new one.
