How bigs the lamb ? I just give 1ml but as I’ve said elsewhere, our vet said under dosage is as bad as overdosing 🤔 Next time I find one I’ll give it 2ml
I think alamycin la is a 3 day cover so if the lambs out in the field it saves running around looking for it daily
We had one years ago , lamb flat out so I thought joint ill or something, brought it in and caught ewe and twin , lamb recovered so out they went , then we seen ewe knocking seven bells out of the lamb
I think ewe was short on milk and picked which twin was to survive
Nature can be harsh
Working out when moor ewes should finish as I need the space , drove around on the quad and they seem to have lambs at foot ( apart from 35 hoggs)
Mrs boss informed me they won’t finish for another.., 4 weeks 😖
tempted to go through them in a race on the next dry day , worm , mark and evict...
Fairly bleak in parts up there , I went up to pick up the AJS, they were silaging at the time and leaving some hellish wet ruts
Fans on full , we’ve drizzling rain but not silly , blowing it down to @firther !
Actually the wind turned from a northerly to a nnw, it’s chilly but bearable
We’ve had a few , all gritstone cross , it like they are too posh to push and are found with a hung lamb which once removed leaves them wobbling around then they will be found dead
Five so far yet the white face ewes on exactly the same ground, feed and tups have been ok
I am adamant the grit...
Here’s ours from last night , I left her in the shed and came in to set up for the scanner.
Ewe still messing about so I had a look , not a huge lamb but a very tight ewe
One “was” a George mudge crook that I broke , I kept the leg crook on a 3’ length of the original shaft, it just lives on the quad
The others a cheap Ritchie one for “ Justin “
