Don’t have any envoys but I have renegade heifers calving now as well as his son logistics . Heifers look good so far will take pictures later.
I have convay yearlings that look great .
My worry about renegade is that his SCS is high and I don’t want to be culling young cows because of...
I have a solids based contract. Would it be correct to say that if I have 2 cows each producing 700 kilograms of solids, 1 cow does 10000 litres and 1 does 9000 litres. The cow with the lowest volume must be much more profitable because she will get 500 kgs less concentrate.
The robots are more or less ready to go just the collars to put on a few gates and a tracks to finish. Have had advice from Lely re grazing but I am worried about cow flow and a drop in yield if I go all out grazing from the start. I was hoping that by spending time indoors that it would be...
Hi all we are due to start up in the next few weeks. At present we are full time grazing but hope to go AB grazing with C indoors. I am looking for advice on what to feed indoors. TIA .
What would be a typical mix for silage ground thinking , the t+f isn’t the quickest way of putting out fert on grazing fields but it must be very time consuming putting on higher rates.
Hi chips do you find it difficult to maintain grass quality with ad lib buffer do you constantly have to top/mow after the cows or do you run dry cows after the milkers
Does anyone successfully graze a higher yielding herd 9000 ltr + . I am due to startup this autumn so it won’t matter to me this year with abc grazing the cows may be going through the robots 1.8 times a day not sure how that will affect cows doing 40 ltr +
Having been to a number of farms it seems it’s much easier to graze with a lower yielding cow as the higher yielding herds have a buffer or tmr inside whereas the grass only herds are moving better with a abc system with tighter grass allocation
Putting in A5s . Sparky said I would have to change all the existing motors if I went 3 phase and it’s best avoided. Lely said it wouldn’t be a problem with single phase so I put it out of my mind.
The electrical company said it was a euro a meter. I am 2000 meters for a 3 phase line so 20000...
