I feel a bit cheeky asking this as you lot probably get ask all the time but here goes.
A friend of mine who loves his deer stalking has asked me if I know of any ground he can go on. All the places I have are either deer free or well sown up with syndicates or what not.
Now before you fob this...
I think it's more about having a balance. Yes healthy ones will be killed, but isn't it better to have a healthy controlled population in an area than none at all. I'd presume if tests done on dead specimens proved tb then their would be other actions to follow. As has been said stopping over...
Yes I do, but that's my opinion
I think their dead, I read article a few months back about a group of students that went out with a badger digging team, just to see how it was done and I think they killed them and took samples, but it was a while back
In regards to gassing the setts I don't think it's the right thing to do. Maybe a French approach to the problem, terrier men come in, dig badger, take blood samples, send them off, job done
I wonder if these clueless politicians now consider the first American settlers who nearly wiped out the American bison as hero's . Surly the bison was emitting methane as much as any cow! And as such they must see the few men who brought it back from extinction (if i remember right it was 13...
Don't see why he had to emphasise people of colour at the beginning, and he couldn't even say small holding. Put someone on who actually knows a bit about farming and I'll listen to the whole speech.
I help a friend out who keepers a wild bird shoot coz his health isn't good. He calls me the under keeper but in truth I'm just the lakky. I enjoy it though. Filling the feeders can be a slog in some of the more inaccessible places but it keeps you fit and I have free run of the pests and get to...
From other threads I see alot of you enjoy a days shooting, do any of you run your own or do you just buy your days as and when. And if its your own is it for social or economic purposes.
If its your own dog definitely nerves, but also them just doing what they were born to do, whether it's a collie herding sheep, a lab picking up, a terrier bottling it's quarry underground or what ever and really enjoying it. I wish I enjoyed my job as much as the dogs
It's surprised me a few off these answers. I can imagine farming being quite lonely at times but some of you just want to be left alone :p
Me I'm surrounded by people all day , so out in the countryside shooting, fishing or digging to my terriers is how I relax
As everything now is about covid or the fact the world's going to end if you have one more sunday roast, what do you fellas do to for fun, something to take your mind off all the doom and gloom.
Don't know if this has been mentioned as I haven't read all the posts but it's not so much what people are doing but how many people are doing it! So the answer to global warming or what ever you want to call it is decreasing the population. There are 3 ways of doing it
1. War..... not going to...
