Yeh after yesterday I thought we were going to get into proper spring. But this morning was brutal.
Seems to have brightened up and wind died off now so hopefully will get better.
Well now that you mention it :D, that one I did at the end of the hebrideans was a Charollais at about 150Kg and I really enjoyed the challenge of that one. ( picture earlier in the thread)
I would love to have a go at a pen of these
Cheers I will start on them. I remember my hamstrings from last year been doing yoga to try and loosen my joints and improve flexibility. Hopefully it will pay off.
Just managed to get two proper jobs of the season booked in.
Got 70 ewe lambs to do.
And then one place has 100 MV accredited ewes and 30 tups to do one day then 110 ewe commercial flock to do.
So that has been a bloody grand day and the weather has got better round here so I am on a winner.😁

It is fun, hard bloody work.
But nothing better than seeing a field/shed of well sheared comfortable sheep.
And as they say if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life :)
Not yet but they are on my list, I think once I have done them all I might rate them on a scale of 1- 10 on how much I enjoyed it.
Not yet have watched them be done would like to give it a go.
I've got a pair of Ryelands to do in early May will see how I get on, haven't done jacobs yet. Did a...
Oh it can only get better. I am always an optimist.
Just found my calling in life a lot later than others. No better time of year than shearing season. Helps when you have good customers :)
Bloody hell that is early but sounds good. What are they like to shear?
See I must have missed the invite to that :D
I do need to try and get some show clients so I can do some earlier jobs feels a bit to long.
Even crutching our flock and lambs wasn't enough, need some proper shearing work.
Ps. still need to tick a lincoln off my breed list.
So I have been holding off starting this thread but as we are almost a month away now thought I would start it off.
I did my first season last year and cannot wait to get back at it this year, been working on stengthing my back and core a lot through the off season. My main target this time is...
Well to be fair that is all I asked them for, apparently the insurers said for what I am doing need another one called care and handling. Going to pop to local brokers today see what they say.
Just made me laugh they want three years experience but won't let you get the insurance to get experience.
