We have equipment to deal with loose mice, but you have to be quick.
Then take them out on the lawn, pursued by the cat and release them, lock the cat flap on the way in.
Often heard used engine oil is corrosive, but if that is the case why is the only bit of my Land rover chassis not corroded the bit where all the engine oil leaks out.
Used oil may be slightly corrosive but all the OIL cancels that out, if you want to use black oil crack on it's way better than...
I always wonder what these "renewables" are that so many people speak of, in the middle of a calm night during a drought, what "renewables" are producing electric to power all the heat pumps and charge our electric cars?
The power loss over a distance is something I would like to know, we have pylons about 150m from the house and in the damp weather they really buzz, makes me think if they are buzzing like that all the way down there wont be any left by the time it gets to the end.
I agree the sound of a big water wheel is steady, soothing I have never heard a Pelton wheel going I presume it is a loud whine like a turbine.
But you would put it in a shed and insulate it, then that whine in the background would be the sound of your own electric.
There is a series of earlier vids. where he installs a Pelton wheel type and that is better, I like the look and sound of the old water wheel going round but not very efficient considering how much metal it takes to make it.
If, when you do get the tank off and you can't get a new one then you can solder plates over the holes and treat the inside with POR15.
You could even treat a new tank if corrosion is a problem.
I have a little tube of that stuff, it's just a blue goo with little bits of diamond floating about in it, it does work but you have to use it before you have totally chewed up the screw.
My "tiger" wont start first time in cold weather, flick the switch on if it it turns over and stalls switch off wait a few seconds try again, if you get impatient and hold the power on too long it will trip the little overload switch at the side of the head, reset it try again.
Mine always...
Sounds like you should sort all the boundary fences and get some sheep on it, then you can start sorting individual bits, gates, fences, topping, trimming etc. speak to local farmers in the meantime and see what you have got next spring.
You should have one wire permanent live from the starter solenoid, that goes to connection 1
You should have a wire that goes to the ign light on the dash and then down to the alternator, that should go onto connection 4.
There should be a second wire that gives supply to the fusebox that goes...
I agree about USB built into sockets most of the new phones etc. Use a higher ampage charger to fast charge, I find if you plug into one of those USB sockets then unplug after a few hours thinking it is going to be fully charged and it's only at 40% or something!
Depends on the age, an older one is better, the newer ones are all plastic and cheap chinesium.
I have a circa 1980s one that has been my go to, quick, start first pull, little saw for the last 30 years.
It's a job to find anyone who will gritblast, let alone quickly and cheaply for cash, if you have a good firm local who you trust to completely derust before primer then good for you, crack on.
