    Is my system right?

Yes I’ve seen that but I’m very unsure about it as it would be very heavy on a trailed sprayer and Cambridge rolls. And at that price it would have to be my sole tractor. Think I’ve decided to keep what I’ve got and buy a big old tillage tractor for no more than £50,000, something like a...

Read above it’s not cost effective.

    Is my system right?

Obviously my tractor is now out of warranty and I’m friends with a CNH fitter. He’s advised me the FPT 6.7l engine in mine wouldn’t be worth tampering with and may cause me more trouble. Another friend also told me he had looked into it with his tractor which is the same as mine and was quoted...

    Is my system right?

I don’t want to do this as it does such a good job for us. The rapid is so versatile it can do as little or as much as you want. The idea behind the tine bar was to cut a pass out for me which allows me less time on the farm.

    Is my system right?

I’ve hardly anything. 1 drill, rolls, subsoiler, old set of discs rarely used. 2 x grain trailers, 1 telescopic, 2 bale trailers, 1 trailed sprayer for chems and fert. 1 tractor presently. Tell me what I can get rid of bar the discs which are handy on occasions.

    Is my system right?

I’ve had the sprayer 10 years. It needs air but yes could be done with a compressor but it definitely needs a high capacity oil pump as I’ve run it on a standard pump and the boom height control doesn’t work at all because the tractor is powering the pump flat out. Swapped to a high capacity...

    Is my system right?

All the equipment is owned and has been for many years and left over from 1000ac operation plus some contracting. For example the 5m discs are worth no more than £4000 so no point in selling them. The trailed sprayer was bought used about 10 years ago and currently worth about £20,000 but what...

    Is my system right?

Yes I had it new but there’s no point buying another the same as it’s struggling on the drill at the minute.

    Is my system right?

£1000/week for a minimum of 10 weeks generally. 5 years and I’ve spent £50,000 and nothing to show for it where as I spend £50,000 now and in 5 years it’s still worth £25,000.

    Is my system right?

Well it’ll be running the sprayer so needs a certain level of spec such as air and high capacity hyd pump. Integrated full auto steer is better than bolt on as I put the trams in with the sprayer not the drill. Generally a tractor with air will be automatically 50km/hr so it’ll naturally push...

    Is my system right?

Also on 710 rear and 650 front Michelin xeobib, 5 spools, bigger hydraulic pump, mid mount spool kit for option of front loader. Basically full spec as it’s already in stock so I can’t change the spec.

    Is my system right?

It’s 240hp base but peaks at 270hp on pto and transport. It’ll be a couple models up from yours I guess.

    Is my system right?

With regards to money I’m thinking of spending £100k on 2 used tractors. 300hp and 150hp. Effectively costing me £40,000 to get into the two after I’ve sold mine.

    Is my system right?

Full spec Case/NH 240hp with RTK steering. Tractor is £125k. RTK is £10k.

    Is my system right?

Just thinking a 230hp tractor as my 2nd machine for corn cart, rolling, topping, spraying is a bit overkill?

    Is my system right?

Just to add I don’t want to change the drill as it does a good job and suits the soil type.

    Is my system right?

Hi just joined but have been looking in for a while. It’s my first post and I’m looking for some advice please. So I’m covering 400ac on my own alongside some farm diversifications. The arable is very much part time though. The system I’m running is I have a contractor doing combining, hedge...
