@grainboy what size is the other and what price?

The vet told me it was rather expensive and hardly any interest. I’d certainly use it, having lost so many animals to it.

Could anyone point me in the right direction to get the above? Struggling to find one for the old digger currently.

Glad to hear it! Many problems local to you with it?? I’ve near enough finished now. Lost approx 40% of lambs. Have lost several ewes which hurts.

We have had a few maybe half a dozen rotten lambs. Vets have tested for everything and the only thing it comes back as is schmallenberg. The ewes have shown no signs of lambing at all. When you see how deformed they are you can only assume the internals will be messed up also. I’ve had around 30...

Where abouts in the country are you both? A lot more local to me cases now as more start lambing. Have also heard a local dairy farms had a schmallenberg calf.

For anyone interested in it. The vets have taken the heads from half a dozen lambs to send off so the brains can be examined for brain development. Bloods taken from ewes also( several ewes seem very ill that have had schmallenberg lambs) I went two days with ‘normal’ looking albeit dopey...

Have tried not to think about the financial side but really struggling with the amount of death. Have had several with legs curved forward completely solid with no chance of getting them out. Have had to break the joints to get them out. I think I’ve lost over 50% now. lost 6 lambs over night...

I’m in North Devon. Vets rang our local APHA at star cross near Exeter to tell them and they said they’d had lots of calls reporting it locally.
