Choosing Stewardship Mid tier vs SFI - have I understood hedge cutting restrictions correctly?

We're part way through a mid teir application and getting slightly cold feet. We deliberately haven't selected any hedge options within mid tier because the block of land we're putting in we want to continue annual cutting. 5' width parlour pit?

We're trying to decide if we can extend our current parlour and change standings to 50 degrees. Changing to 50 degrees would reduce the pit width from our current 6 '6" to 5'. It would save a lot of building cost if we could extend rather than a new build. Is 5' wide enough? (20:40 swingover.)
