Just wanted to know of any of your experiences of a Ford 5000 with a CAV rotary pump instead of a Simms inline pump. What was one with a CAV pump like at starting from cold?
Many thanks.
Thank you. Probably in the region of 100-200 acres a year. Hopefully hay if it is dry enough.
Don't suppose you know of one with an extra star/rotor on?;)
Just wanted to know if any of you have had any experience Enorossi rakes? Or should I hunt for a second hand Claas Liner.
Enorossi are these:
Similar to the Acrobat.
Many thanks.

Many thanks for both of your replies, it is greatly appreciated.
Do either of you know where I could get a plastic coupler from?
If not, like @Hay Maker suggests I'll make one myself.
Thanks again @Hay Make and @MF CI.
As you know this was a common wearing part on them. Do you know if you can still get the gear linkage for a 2640? If so, where from and how much?
Many thanks.
Thank you. Yes, it has got an oil pump balancer in the sump. It's a multipower model. I just can't get the engine turning over fast enough to get the engine to start.
The only thing timing related, that I've touched, is the oil pump. I lined up all the lines and dots on the timing when I put the oil pump back on.
However, I was looking for some marks on the flywheel and I couldn't find any. When I've worked on other tractors there has usually been markings...
There was not a a lot of wear in the pistons or the old rings. The ring grooves were cleaned upon ring replacement. The new shells were also checked before they were fitted by myself and an engine specialist.
Why I didn't take the whole engine to him and get him to do all the work I'll never...
My 590 has just had it's head reconditioned, new piston rings and shells. It has been put back together and won't start.
The engine seems to be tight. The starter just hasn't got enough grunt to swing the engine over fast enough.
I thought, lazy starter. So, I've taken a starter and battery...
Thank you for your reply.
I don't know if oil running over the joystick controls is a bad thing as this will certainly prevent them from rusting up! :D
I have a Twyman post knocker. It's not that robust however, it does the job! It often needs welding up, but I know people with Wrag post...
