    Adding exta john deere worklights

Hi, I've a john deere 6110mc, I've purchased a pair of work lights to go on the indicator in front of cab, there's a plug. I just tried it and it came up with work lights with restricted function or something similar. I presumed they would just work? Will it need a laptop plugged in or something?
