IPM4, cropping or scheme year, that is the question?

I was just at the point of applying for SFI with the hope of a 1st March 24 start date. I had applied for IPM4 on parcels which would not receive an insecticide between 1st March 2024 and 1st March 2025. However having seen the webinar from Friday it would appear my insecticide free year should...

    Half and adjacent hedges again?

I thought I was on top of hedges last year but alas no! If you have a length of hedge where you have management control of both sides. For example against a grass field or road. In the land use section for that field do you have to enter the figure as both BF 11 half hedge and BF 12 adjacent...

    Combines and telephone wires

Hi, Back in sunny July the combine caught a low hanging telecom wire. The line was serving the house where I live. I have now been presented with an invoice for £550 plus VAT.for the repair. Presumably telecom wires should be at a minimum height? The combine with the tank open is 4.8m high...

    CS Claim Evidence photos

Hi, I have got to send in several photos as part of my claim evidence. It would be a lot easier to do electronically but my IT skills are pretty woeful. Syngenta nozzle offer

There is much written about the half price offer on the syngenta 90% drift reducing nozzle aimed at the pre em timing. On further reading this seems to relate to the Teejet tti 110 05 nozzle aiming for 200 litres/ha at under 12 km/hr. Nowhere does it explain how or where you can take advantage...

    Which slug pellets?

With the new 10m buffer does using Ferric Phosphate pellets on the whole field instead of metaldehyde become a viable solution. When I have previously used sluxx I found it a quality pellet. How do ironmax pro and sluxx compare for price and quality? What is everyone's favourite metaldehyde...

    Vaderstad Topdown low disturbance points

I used the low disturbance points for the first time last year in extremely dry conditions and was impressed with significantly better finish due to dry lumps not being brought to the surface. The only downside was high levels of wear. Are there any points on the market that combine the low...

Which Vaderstad Topdown 50mm point to buy?

I'm in the process of ordering wearing metal for the summer. Currently I tend to buy tungsten points from either Spaldings or Pan Anglia. I find they wear reasonably well, make setting up the machine easier as they maintain their length and hence depth and reduce the downtime in constantly...
