Maybe or maybe not but have they the money for either now? Thats my concern.
I forgot about the district councils that are going bust too, like Birmingham for example, wtf is going on??
Yes what i meant by that was that Brexit allowed the government to dream up the SFI etc. All the extra financial problems the country now has, happened after they dreamt SFI up and so wont have been factored in to the sums. It was a very different world 12 months after Brexit.
We are chucking hundreds of millions of cash in to Ukraine which isnt going to stop any time soon, and probably other countries now in the middle east. Train drivers, doctors, teachers (you name it) are on strike for more money, if we arent in a recession now we soon might be so taxes may be...
My thoughts exactly. You just need to get the fixed costs down. Problem is when the 3 year agreement is up and Defra have stopped SFI and you have to start farming again with out any kit and labour on a weed infested farm. Just looking on the bright side:ROFLMAO:
Yes exactly, the more vague the requirements the more leaway to pull money back. I am certain the gov don't have the funds for this and that is exactly what they will do, I am sure of it.
DEFRA are not to be trusted.
I'm not sure how wise it is to plant up the farm with trees, i suppose it depends to a degree on the type of farm. I certainly wouldn't do it.
Terrible for the tenants who farmed it and had to leave.
This is what caught my eye:
Mark Spencer's words copied from the article:
"If people start to take the mickey, then we will have to take action to stop that from happening, and there is some active consideration as to whether we limit the amount of a holding that you can put into that scheme...
maybe but they are doing their best to keep the costs as low as possible. Nigel Huddleston mp went to my sons school a few weeks ago and when asked if the government were going to continue to support farmers to secure our domestic food supply as BPS helped to do he ridiculed the BPS and then...
Did anyone go to this meeting in Norfolk? Looks like its going to cost too much and they are back tracking ? I personally dont think its to do with too much land being taken out by farmers taking the mickey, or food security - i think they have just realised how much is going to / could cost and...
Hi,

We have just been entered into a contract. They said they sent notification by email but we didn't receive anything
They said we cant get out of it as we didn't opt out of the emails they...
So how much rent would they have to pay to entertain letting them put their horses on the field? There's got to be a realistic figure that might be tempting.
