They are hard to source now. We have had to have rear roller bearing housings made by a local engineer and had to replace the main gearbox with something similar as it turns out the original gearbox model was built specifically for that machine.
I'll ask my brother tomorrow as I think that was the symptom ours had on his T7 and we ended up replacing the damper plate. We also changed the Vario solenoid while we were in there.
Ours is a bit notchy. But we have had one in the past where one of the springs in the gearbox broke. This resulted in the metering Rollers turning for half a turn then stopping for the equivalent of half a turn.
I heard that you can apply untreated urea after the cutoff date if you can show that it was washed in soon after. That will not be hard to prove this year.
I've also been told that the inhibitor that we would have to add to liquid UAN had a shelf life of 48 hours once mixed in the tank...
I went up to Scotland from North Yorkshire to see a tractor at a well known main dealer. The photos they sent looked good, but when I got there the bonnet was dented all over (front mounted slurry reeler?) Left hand seat armrest missing, aircon button had a hole in it amongst many other things...
Take a picture of the plug and do a google image search. My son recently showed me how to do this and its amazing how often I use it to find obscure parts.
I've never been called a "world authority" before🤣
Multispares would be my first port of call. Then Avisons and maybe even McConnell. They may still have something left in the back of the yard.
We have managed to make a start applying ammonium sulphate for a couple of light land customers today. Only a couple of hundred acres, but at least we've checked that all the kit is working as it should. I don't think anything else will be dry enough until next week.
I think it's time it dried up and then all the keyboard warriors can get on the land, ease their frustration, and calm down a bit. There is more than one way to skin a cat. No one way will suit everyone. Chill out.
I heard that low disturbances subsoiling was going to be allowable. I've rung the RPA to try and find out the rules for direct drilling and weed recognition by camara and they have not been issued any rules yet. How are you supposed to plan for the next season?
