    Natural England knows best?

I suspect that will be the hearing to decide on costs. Get some evidence together to support a very large figure!

    So is this stagflation?

Our twit of a leader sold the pot of gold a few years ago! At a bargain basement price as well. Anyone with sense will have bought some gold for themselves, so they have something left when our leaders ruin our currency completely.

Very heavy crop of holly berries here. Any suggestions on the best way to plant holly berries to get some to grow into trees?

Why do Gaza protests have be on the same day as Remembrance at the Cenotaph?

So in your opinion, a protest in support of the aggressors and those that started this by a murderous attack on innocent women and children and the taking of hostages is an appropriate way to draw attention to war? You really do have some strange views.

    Public sector pay rises

Inflation is a product of money supply. The effect is increased prices. Not the other way round. The BoE has been printing money endlessly since 2008, so many have been waiting for inflation to catch up. It was delayed as the banks were hoarding cash to repair their balance sheets. I will not...

    Public sector pay rises

My NI Civil Service pay rise as at 1st August 2022 was 0.99% topline and 0.76% cash in hand. It wasn't paid until June 2023!! Given that inflation was about 10% then, there is a lot of lost ground to be made up!! The pay rise of 6% for the English and Welsh public servants this year will...

    Boris Is Toast

Cancel culture extends to banking ... beware

Funny how some folks believe a comment attributed to Coutts above that spoken by Farage. If the comment genuinely came from Coutts, then they have clearly broken Data Protection rules by diclosing where he had his account, how much he is worth, or not worth, etc.

When is a Farm a Farm - IHT relief

This is an area that HMRC have been attacking for a number of years. There have been important cases like McClean, Evelyn, etc, where HMRC have gone after the tax as heavily as possible. HMRC have slowly introduced a new test into the equation. Is the person farming, or merely looking after...

POLL-Should the BFU have supported John Price?

I do not know when Mr Price carried out his works, but the River Lugg thread started in December 2020. BFU was not formed until about May 2022. It would therefore have been impossible for the BFU to "have supported" Mr Price. Sid, you talk sense on a number of issues, but sometimes you need...

BFU meeting with AHDB over combinables assurance

Yes. And as part of the Court case, seek discovery. Ask the Court to order the mill to supply its last 5 or 10 years of results on the tests they have carried our on imported grain. This will finally show the frequency and breadth of these test (or their complete absence if that is the case).

what interests/hobbies do you have outside of farming

More a dark winters evening thing than during the summer. I have never worked on restoring paintings. It's a whole different set of skills. More for an artist and someone with experience of paint.

    Government Emergency Alert

It says the alert is to be early evening on Sunday 23rd April. Your phone will sound, even if on silent / vibrate. That could be good fun in the Sunday evening church service! Alerts now turned off for that reason. Why not test it on Saturday afternoon at 3pm during the football matches??
